Hi everyone, I just bought a Fostex x-55 second hand and it didn't come with a manual. I'm having a problem when I record to tracks three and four. The problem is tracks 1 and 2 are automatically bounced onto 3 or 4 as well. Does anyone know why?

I am not familiar with the 55 but, it sounds like you are not panning when you record. Most recorders require the channel you are recording to be either left or right and all others panned to the oppisite side. That way you get no bleed. If you are recording 2 channels at a time, they have to be panned opposite each other to prevent bleed. When you mix down, you can change the panning for each channel as desired. Hope this helps.....
