Writing article on problematic VS2480

...and want to have more specifics on the problems users have been having with the machine. Your accounts with the OS upgrades...

I'm writing the article based on the premise that Roland has released a bug-ridden machine and would like more first-hand accounts.

While many 2480 users are reporting no problems to date, there are the following problems reported so far by a number of users:

– Rebooting in the middle of burning a CD
– Backward compatibility issues with OS 2.008
– Backward compatibility issue with older models of CD-RW burners
– Inflated project size issues, possibly an IBM drive issue
– Low band EQ problems
– Drive lockups
– Drive file corruption
– Drive fragmentation
– Drive size issues
– Tracks out of sync
– Tracks for other projects playing within the current project
– Track dropouts
– Tracks dissappearing
– Tracks appear, yet won't play
– Scene/Locator window issues on the VGA monitor
– System lockups when using the Shuttle wheel in conjunction with playing projects residing on an external SCSI drive – this was introduced with the release of 2.008
– System locks up in Record mode and won't disengage when pressing Stop – continues recording
– Input distortion issue
