Well then let me help you summarize further :)

1 - What's your budget?

2 - How many tracks do you want to be able to handle?

well heres what my mate just told me,,
sound right to you Mac guys?

"OK .. I have a mac mini with OS X Tiger (10.4) on which I have an Mbox Pro .... which runs pro tools perfectly !
As this one you’ve sent is a 10.4 system, it should be fine to run the Mbox.

Sammys little minimac has 10.5 on it, which isn;t supported by Digidesign, however there is an upgrade for £40 to make it work on his machine ...

So to answer your question .. As far as I can see, and as I use it myself, yes that minimac with 10,4 (Tiger) on it will work with Mbox ! :))"

and is $599 a good price for one of those wee beasties folks?

wanna mac!!!

Perfect timing for me and this forum... Right now Im using a tascam 424mkIII, a new korg d888 dig recorder which is the bomb for me....its a piece of cake so far...im mixing down to an alesis masterlink....

the korg came with cubase software. Unfortunately, my old fisher price P.C. doesnt have a dvd player.

once i get a grasp down the road, i may get in to protools.

so im thinking instead of screwing around with my maxed out virus onfected fisher price i will look at a new mac...

question 1: I am of a very limited income, and which model would one be able to afford. i dont want a laptop....

question 2: is mac pretty much just for protools, or would the cubase software be compatible as well.

thanks...I always liked that apple!!!

clevo
