I can't pay you for it.

But it would be loads of fun, and you'd get lots of valuable painting experience.

.

bhaha. yes, it would most certainly seem anyone who professes occupational psychology to first understand their own.

You might have better luck at homehousepainting.com..... :D

I'll be right over...... man, I can't wait to try out these new paint plugins I ripped off the net! I'm gonna use the Mellancamp preset "little pink houses for you and me". No, wait.... the Stones preset "I see a red door and I want to paint it black" This'll be FUN! I'm gonna try that sponge thing, oh and ........

No I won't paint your house you cock sucking mother fucker. Or as Chess would reply.

NO

Hey Jonny. I like your attitude.

You've got spunk. Say, just because I like you, I'll let you do my roof for me, too.

.

DAMMIT! That's bullshit!

I wanted to do the roof!

This might be off topic to this board, but do different colors make your recordings sound different? And if so, what's the best one for rap vocals?

Under $10/gallon...

i would love to! as you can see...from my post count, and my feedback, i have a ton of experience painting houses! Hell.......ill even re-do your driveway........all included...for free.

i knew if i searched this board long enough, my dream would come true! im gonna do someone a free service! yeeaahhh foe me! :D

Can I use a spray-can? I think purple with yellow stripes would look awesome...espcially on the windows.

I did that to my house, and now the neighbors don't bother me anymore...I wonder why?

Only if I can do your neighbor's house at the same time, distort the colors beyond recognition from the samples, and pan the two houses hard left and hard right. It'll look like absolute crap, but absolute crap is AWESOME DUDE!!!

Which reminds me, I too was going to rip off Mark Twain for some lyrics for one of my songs, but a salesman at Sweetwater told me that I could get the same quality if I stole from Shania Twain. Is this true?

All kidding aside, this is grapes to watermelons. You can't FTP your house to me where I can then paint it naked smoking a hooka at 3 am sitting in a comfortable chair and having fun, and you could master 3 albums in the time it takes to do just the prep on painting a house. There's no point made here Chess, except that what some people love to do, you consider to be as exciting as painting a house? Fishing, diving, sailing, audio, four things I decided not to ruin my love for by doing it for a living. That doesn't mean you should want to do for free what you make your living at, but that's your world, and not everyone else'.

It sounds more to me like you have no point here Robert. Most people I know want to work at what they love. Why submit yourself to making a living at something you don't love? Now that's pointless.

To support a family maybe?

You make a good point, but one that far too often is divorced from reality. In a perfect world, we would all work at what we love, and love our work. I like my job a lot, I don't love it. I design educational toys these days, for Leapfrog. There's even some audio involved, which I have fun with. There's some real science here, and we created the worlds first pentop computer last year, the FLY. It sees what you write (minature camera in the tip), and can do things like tell you what the answer to the equation is that you just wrote out on paper, pretty cool.
I know a lot of people that went into doing what they love for a living, and either don't make enough to get ahead, support a family, and save for retirement, or had the fun sucked right out of it, or most commonly - both. It usually works out that the fun jobs are too few to go around, highly competed for, ruthlessly defended, and under-compensated with no benefits. For some, it's all worth it, and the only path to happiness, despite the tradeoffs. For a very few people, it even pays off big. I admire those who make it work, but it simply can't work for everyone, and the compromise is to like what you do, be well compensated for it, and then go and do the things you love for the fun of it.

*sigh* Why is the disparity between asking someone if they'd like to join in a hobby activity and asking someone to do a job for them so difficult to understand?

Yes this audio stuff is nothing more than a hobby for some folks. And yes I think that's fantastic.

But when somebody asks somone with more than just hobbyist chops to perform a service for them and not just to lend them a fun hand, that is *exactly* like asking a painter to paint their house for them.

You guys should all pretty well know that chess and I are like oil and water most of the time. But I'm with him on this one. (Don't let it go to your head, chess :D).
