I liked it ... I especially liked the slide and the harp playing was excellent.

Match your eq on the guitar and the lead vocal a bit more so they don't sound so disconnected. Maybe mix in a second cloned track of guitar with the same vox eq / fx applied just a bit. Just an idea. +1 on the slide and harp, good stuff.

What effect do you have on the vocal? Reverb? With the stronger parts of the vocal it pops out wide & contracts for the quieter bits.
I'm listening with h/phones so that's a bit disturbing - it's less worrying when the bvox inhabit the edges.
Cool song & delivery. Some of the hesitations in the guitar early on had me on edge but that's OK - you're not suppose to deliver my expectations - better to challenge them.
The slide is cool but sounds like it's in a different place & just dropped in - diff reverb?
Doesn't approach Waites, but that's not a bad thing - his vocals are really, really mannered & have become a caricature of him.

Thanks for the feedback guys! The vocals are a blend of two (very) different mics... and part of what you are hearing is the balance between distored and clean vocals shifting in and out. Same on the resonator parts.

I didn't find the vocals disconnected as much as muffled. It doesn't take away the musical value of the song, but perhaps there was a way to bring em out more?
