Won't save MIDI setup

I'm using Cubase 5 on a G4 800 and have a Tascam US-224 as my interface/remote. Everytime i launch Cubase I have to tell it that the 224 is my remote and also let it know what MIDI inputs I'm using. Can't i save this somehow (the auto load song won't do it)?

go into devices, then midi device manager and select your specific controller from the menu, then install it. I think that should do it.
 
just re read your post and realized your using cubase 5. I have sx so I dont know if the procedure is the same. It should be similar though.
