So, I've read up on this a bit, and found a couple of similar posts, but nothing quite the same. I need to connect the outputs of my ADA8000 (XLR-F) to the inputs (1/4" TRS - stereo, not balanced) of my headphone amp - HA4700. I'm running out of a RME Digiface into the ADA8000 for both headphone monitoring and effects loops.
My best guess of how I'm going to do this: Go from the ADA8000 into my 1/4" TRS patchbay using XLR-F -> 1/4" TRS M cables, then patch the stereo mix together with a y (insert) cable which plugs into the headphone amp's input.
What I need to know is, will this work? Do I need transformers in there at all? The input impedance of the HA4700 is 5k ohms for the stereo TRS ins, and the output impedance of the ADA8000 is 500 ohms balanced, 250 unbalanced.
Thanks, guys!
