I'm thinking of getting an Echo Audiofire 2 as a Fire Wire interface for my laptop.
It has 2 balanced 1/4" jack outputs and a stereo 1/8" jack headphone output. The latter of which is what my laptop has.

Now I'd think the best way to hook up monitors would be via the 1/4" output(s) but how does that work? i.e do you just take one cable from the jack output to the first speaker and then connect the second in series from the first. Or do you connect each one individually from each separate output?

Problem is - I cant find anywhere that shows the back of a pair of Event Alp5 monitors!!

You will need to run a 1/4" cable from each jack to each speaker (L out to one speaker R out to the other speaker). The Event will accept a 1/4" cable, so you wont need any adapters.

Not that I'm aware of, other than the leftmost output would be left.:D
