i have been using a rode ntk mic and rode k2 mic and they have all been stolen so am wanting to buy a new mic. i am over spending amounts of money that is high to me as i am on a lower budget and was going to get a behringer t1 mic. now although almost everyone is against behringer for mics i heard that if i replace the tube for a 6072-a tube the actual sound quality will be a great deal better but the overall sound may drop but i could just turn up my pre amp. does anyone have any usefull input my budget for a mic that im comfortable with is an australian 300 dollars.......please guys help me out

have a fund raiser or something, there must be some other way to go. You've had a couple of very nice mics, don't settle for crap now, you'll hate it later when you have to listen to the recordings. Can you get a hold of an AKG 2000 or a CAD 177?

i take it you've checked out your insurance etc?

it's a bummer that you even have to deal with this, but i'd agree with kenny.

if you can save up and come back in at the same level you were at, or better, you'll be happier in the long run.

if all my mics got stolen, i'd be gutted! but i definitely wouldn't want to settle for lower quality gear, unless i needed to get back on my feet asap.

Check out the used market. With the same money you spend on the Behringer, you could at least get something a step up from that.
