They were for a while, then I put them up on some foam blocks - I don't have room for stands
unless I cut holes into my desk I guess and ran them up through the holes?

Try this ..... go to the post office and get a couple of those card board boxes that are for the cheap Priority mailings $5. to ship (they are the smallest)and tape them up and set them between the foam and the monitors and see if that helps.

I use a dense foam...the stuff they make camping rolls out of...and I made a "sandwich" --- foam, 1" marble, foam.
The monitors sit on top of that, there is "0" transmission.
You could probably use the large stone tile instead of marble. I just happened to get lucky and got some free white marble, cut to size.
