If I ditch my Audigy 2 , and pick up the Echo Mia, will I still be able to apply, record and monitor soft synths in Sonar using my midi controller?
I'm plugged into the mobo USB port not the soundcard.

Also, I'm using desktop speakers for now , not monitors.
What will I need to pickup to use these speakers (standard 1/8" male) with the outputs on back of the Mia soundcard?

yes on the softsynth.......

for the cable, just a basic 1/4" to 1/8" cord, available at your local Radio Shack.....

I ran an SBLive with a Mia for the last 1 1/2years. Works great, but when I moved up to my new 2.5Ghz DAW, I replaced the SBLive with the Bismark BS-16 soundfont player. Any large GeneralMidi soundfont thru the Bismark sound TONS better than using the MIDI synth in a Creative card.

Oh, my solution was to take the line-out from the SBLive to the tape-ins of my mini-mixer (a Behringer MX-802A). The outputs of the mixer went into the ins of the MIA. Anything played back through the Creative card comes right through the Mia (and can be recorded for mixdowns).

Well, thanks for the input guys. As badly as I wanted the Echo Mia, they're aren't selling em' anymore at my local guitar center. I just missed out on the deal they had , $99.00 each. Time to look at an M Audio Audiphile 2496 or Terratec DMX 2496.
