Why most guitar amps don´t use parametric eq?

Hey...I think you're on to something:
Or how about:

(I don't have Whitestrat's image editing skills -- from left to right, you've got two instrument inputs, a volume knob, an on off switch, and a light and a fuse :D)

say what you will, most people just use the eq on their amp to make it sound like shit....

and you're probably some of those people :p

The funny thing is, I own two guitar amps. One has 3 channels, gains, contours, volumes, master volumes, power, bypass, rectifier mode, blah blah blah--must be like 15 knobs & switch.

The other one has one. The power and volume are the same knob, and that's it. (Harmony H400.) I would've used it instead of editing that Fender, but it's in pieces on my workbench right now.

Okay, seriously. I've never missed a parametric eq for live situations, but I'd sure use one in the studio. I've got a decent rack mount that I'll patch into the signal chain, and sure, I can do it post tracking, but the more familiar I am with my mics and my amps, the more I just want to dial it in and be done with it. So year, I'd like one on my amp.

Thank you for your concern.
