My friend is considering getting a Line 6 for recording. What should I tell him? He is new to recording. He has a real nice strat guitar that sounds great even recorded direct. I have no experience with the Pod but I bet he could get some great sounds with it. Especially if he can get great sounds even with free amp simulators (SimulAnalog plugins, etc.).
Travis: You know that sample you posted in my thread? It sounds JUST like that.
Anyway, I don't want to tell him to buy it if it sucks, but I also don't want to tell him NOT to buy it if he can get some usable tones out of it.
I'm guessing he will just be using it for cool clean sounds or weird sounds (with lots of delay, reverb, etc. to get cool sound fx). He likes weird shit.
He was happy with the sound of his guitar recorded direct.
Should I tell him to buy it or not?
