Why did you start singing?

Well I start singing because all of my friends like my voice and they really appreciate too.

Growing up, my sister, friend (girl we played or hung out with in the neighborhood) and I loved singing (I still do); friends, strangers, and family members gathered around just to hear us sing. I lost interest at the age of twenty(another story), but got back into it probably about five years ago and stuck to singing every since.

I just love to sings and think it would be even better singing in front of an auidence.

I like to sing but my voice isn't great. But I really have no choice if I want vocals on my recordings; it's either me or my wife and she sings worse than I do ...

Hi Robbieeaz62, you just need the right material to help you with your singing. I believe with practice you can achieve it.

I started singing just because I enjoyed it. I studied music at uni and in my honours year I chose to do singing as a second study (piano is my first). That is when I really started to enjoy singing.

Both times got laughed at, made fun of, etc. never got in front of a crowd after that. But I like to duplicate songs I like, Drums, Guitar, and Vocals.

I started singing because my mother swore up and down that I would be good at if I tried. Turns out I was decent. Once I started writing lyrics for my songs I never went back. Then I took Jazz choir in high school and I was able to get into vocal control, scatting, tonation, extending my range, breathing exercises and also annunciation. Ever since then my singing has become almost as prominent in my art as my guitar playing. Love it!

I sing because I write songs - I write songs because no one listens when I talk.

Do they listen to the songs ?

Yes - yes, and yes.... I was being a bit smarmy with just a hint of truth.

The real reason I sing is because I write songs. It is the same reason I play guitar. .... as a songwriter, I am sort of a musician by default.

I started singing because ppl kept asking me why all my songs were instrumental. I told them that any instrument can be the "singer", as a melody is just that - a melody. I was then told that ppl listen to lyrics, not necessarily to the music behind it, so I started singing. I still prefer writing wholly instrumental music, though.

cause my girlfriend broke up with me and i wanted to make a song to get back at her X_X

Its pretty funny how I came about singing. Back in 2004 me and my friend where in a band and I've been a drummer for most of my life, I started playing when I was 5 and its always been my instrument if you get me, but it turned out that we needed songs written, I would write songs and I found it the easiest thing, just chucking out songs here and there. All I needed was a subject or title and that was it but...Someone had to sing...and I was the only one who could hold a tune! 2 albums and 3 singles and one Solo album later.....I'm still singing, and now I Drum/lead sing in one band and have my own solo band where i'm the front man. So...pretty retarded but hey, its always fun to keep your options open :D
