Hello folks,
Working with a new setup this weekend and can't figure out why on earth I can't pan a track L or R.

Everything is recorded correctly as I could pan all the tracks earlier, so I know something is messed up in the manner in which I'm going into and out of the mixer. My chain is: Audiophile 2496 -> into the stereo ins of an old Tascam 424 MKIII, then out through the Line Out in my Yorkville YSM1p's.

Everything sounds find except for some reason I can't pan anything. I'm sure it's a stupid oversight of some sort but I can't figure it out. Any thoughts?

Check your setup panel for the 2496. I had a similar issue when I was using that card and it turned out to be a simple setup issue. Can't remember exactly what but I think I had both the left and right outputs (or inputs?) panned down the middle in the control panel. Does that make sense (it's been a while since I used that card)?

Hey, I was messing around with that but I've tried so many different things that I can't remember if everything else was set up correctly at the same time. So they should be panned hard left and right? Or both down the middle? Thanks for your help!

I think you want to pan them hard left and hard right. Its worth a try anyway.

Good luck!

Haha, ended up being a faulty cable... and it was brand new too.
