Trailing Behind Again
Of all the top notch practicing musicians out there, who would you most want to go into the studio with and why. Keep in mind that I am American, so if you name someone from England or Oz that is only popular there, I will most likely not know them, but hey, to hell with it, put 'em in there anyway. This is but a pipe dream anyway, right? I will wait to post my choice to see who bites on this....

My drummer friend Daniel, probably. We've grown so much into each other's style over the years. I dont have any hero's big enough that I'd rather rock with them than just create stuff on my own with someone I know I can musically mesh with.

All right, give him the stick, DONT GIVE HIM THE STICK.
GEEE IIIIIIII JOOOOOOOE.

No one else???

I thought this would generate more interest, oh welllllllllllllhelllllllll....

Paul Barerre, Kenney Gradney, Bill Payne, Richie Hayward, Shaun Murphy,Sam Clayton and Fred Tackett. Did I miss anybody? :D

If I had to choose one, Peter Gabriel, I think...
His Studio...

Definitely have to say Norah Jones. Her voice is just so damn captivating. She seems like a "first take" kind of musician too, which is good because we could use the time we save for sweet sweet loving. :D

OK, so here is my list, but it's so '80's it's pathetic...
Drummer - Roxy Petrucci from Vixon
Bass - Will Lee from David Letterman - check out his website - whew!
Guitars- Lita Ford and ME!
Lead vocals - it's still up in the air, but I am leaning toward Steve Perry - too bad he quit the biz for health reasons.

Vocals: Mike Patton
Guitars: Tom Morello
Bass: Flea
Drums: Mitch Mitchell
keyboards: John Medeski

What superband would that be ;)

Drums: Danny Carey
Bass: Jeordie White (Twiggy)
Guitars: Head (Korn) & The Edge (U2)
Vocals: Bjork

Now that would be a band...

i would liked to have recorded with any one of the following.
cheap trick, deep purple, mark knoppfler.
peace.

Cecil Taylor!
The Tragicly Hip.

I would actually like to get around to recording myself one of these days. I hope that does not sound vein, its just that I work on so many other peoples records that I have been putting off doing my own album for years. Usually the last thing I want to do after 12 hours of recording is more recording before I go to bed.

 Yo Rocket-man:

Since "Old Blue Eyes" is not among us anymore, I can't name him.

However, to do a session in which I'd be a part of:

Dick Reynolds on keys==one fine musician and a friend.

Elgin Vines on Bass==He has done it all and is still doing it.

Frank Pisani doing the vocals.

And, the drummer on on Leno show--can't recall his name but he swings.

And shaking whatever, the gal who entertains during commercials on the Leno Show.

Whatta session that would be.

Green Hornet

Drums Vinnie Colaiuta

Bass jaco pastorius

Keyboard Herbie Handcock

Now thats a Trio I wouldnt mind!

***Marvin "smitty" Smith is the drums on leno**

Thanks to you all!

The list of musicians you guy and gals gave is just that, MUSICIANS. I think having any mix of those folks and just to watch them do their thing would be amazing. But there are many world class musicians who never get into a studio or "make it big". I've seen some in my time, in my own home growing up. There is nothing quite like witnessing someone who is at the top of their game with their instrument and watch it go. Keep this list going! Eventually, there is going to be some name that hits everyone's list. I think I would love to watch Eric Clapton make his Martin sing.
