This guy is just another Bazzlad, Jessie Michael Garcia and all the rest of them who post their little "song (can I use that word in relation to this????)" and then get all ass bent and start name calling as soon as someone doesn't give them the ego stroking they expected.

You still didn't prove all the name dropping. This is the internet. I can boast anything I want. I can tell you that I am a self-made millioinaire. It can be true. But can I prove it within the context of this bbs? Nope.

I can tell you that I have people coming to me every day who kiss my ring and grovel for attention. Can't prove that either. I'm sorry. I don't believe one word of it. You can't prove you are who you say you are.

Pathetic and weak. The best part is, I can sit back and watch while Jake and Noisedude get you spun up and you will undoubtedly give us a few days and a couple pages of wholesome family fun reading this thread. All for the cost of a cable modem with a 100Mbps speed.... Life is good sometimes.

ok i didnt write, play, perform, or have anything to do other than wondering if it would work.. line into the pc that is. So i dont know.. go ask josh. Version II isnt differnt lyrics it was just me getting drunk and playing with the way all three guitar parts were mixed, its not that good and I admit it. If you turn up your speakers (almost full volume) you will here that mic humm i was talking about.
 
well I think if we keep it going this way it'll be productive again. Apart from some sloppy guitar playing - I got used to the vocals and the song simply isn't as bad as this thread implies

(it's no Chris Harris btw)

Dude, I have nothing to add that hasn't been covered. The song has some potential, but the performance and recording suck. Your attitude sucks, too. Get over yourself. This is a mixing clinic. You got feedback on your mix.

This is not a focus group where people are paid for their opinions. The advice here is free. Take it or leave it, it's up to you. But, there's no need to personally attack people who have taken the time to listen to your song and give their thoughts.
 
I don't think it was all one sided - ok it's a bit arsy posting focus groups but it's not like all the spite came from Dragon8-thingy.
 
Listening to the tune now. Have no idea of the resolution of that MP3. The melody is ok but very predictable. The guitar can't keep the rythm properly. The lyrics I can't give a proper feedback on. The singer has a rough edge but can't keep the pitch. The recording is crap.
To raise the overall quality?
Better recording gear? More steady guitarist? Better mix? Vocalist keep the pitch more often! Thats places to start. Don't ask me about mic placements; never has recorded an aqoustic without a builtin mic.
To summarise; the melody is the best part of it, but is a tad too predictable.
The feedbacks you get here should be honest, but I see no reason why people should start calling you things and yell like someone has done in the feedbacks here.
Welcome to the forum and keep on with the music.

IMHO...I could have gotten better results with and old GE tape recorder in the corner of the room. Kill this thread, I feel like my brain is melting!

Oh, and not that I'm one to judge, but I didn't think the song was terrible. And like everyone else, I have to wonder why the hell you posted this in a clearly labeled "mixing clinic" when the mix sucked.

I finally went back and listened to it. I have to agree it was a sloppy recording all around. The guitar may not have been out of tune, but whatever was done to it completely wrecked the tone. The guy's singing isn't always spot on either. You should do him a favor and retrack this before he lets someone who could potentially further his career hear it and back out because of the sonic problems in this recording...

How about for a mixer? What about a pre amp?
