im just starting the intital steps (ie. save money),
to put together a decent home studio.

so far (outside of monitors, mics, ect)

im looking at buying Reason 3.0 and re-wireing that with cubase.
(Korg MICROcontroll to use with reason)

but which cubase should i get? (sx,sl ect)

whats the difference/pros and cons?

im a novice, so it would be cool to start somewhat small,
(not beginner level though), and im not looking to make excellent quality recordings. just good ones.

any advice?

if this is a stupid newbie question, please limit insults to 2 per person
to keep the thread moving.

good lookin' in advanced.

Cubase SE is $99 at most places. Get that and see if you like the feel of it. If you do like it and you find yourself needing more options in Cubase, then you can pay for the upgrade to SX 3. If you don't, then you're only out $99.

You could always download the trial versions and see which you feel more comfortable with... here is the demo download base for steinberg Here
as far as it goes though they have sx1 for a demo and I don't believe that have an sl trial at the moment. Something to see how it feels though at no cost to you.
