I found two Tascam mixers at a local mom-and-pop store-an M1600/24 and an M2516. For those of you in-the-know:which one would be better for a home studio? Yeah I know there are a LOT of variables involved in the mix (pun intended) but for now the biggest use I'll have is to record our local high school band (of course my daughter is in it playing flute
) when they perform orchestral pieces (none of which have been dumbed-down for a high school band) during their spring indoor concert. One of the pieces they'll be performing has been performed by major orchestras;one of them being the New York Philharmonic. Then the CDs will be sold for band fund raisers. Otherwise I'll be using the mixer for my own pleasure and to record and mix for an indie release to get my name out.
So please help me out fellow recorders
