thanks.

so basically im being a tad paranoid about the new purchase.

honestly when i made my prior purcahse i didnt know anything about the difference between pent 4, pent m, celeron, etc

so guess what i ended up getting a celeron not knowing that like a celeron 2.0 was EXTREMELY slower than a pent 4 of 2.0 ghz.

I dont even think my celeron was a 2.0..it was less. but it was slower than even my OLD laptop. but i was told part of the reason was because my ram was insufficient for windows xp.

this laptop im on now is near death, it keep sshutting off now and giving me tons of errors. ineed a new laptop fast haha

I might get this asus.. looks killers and sounds pretty decent.

Typical 'christian'. Thinks because he ends the post with 'have a nice day' he can say 'shut the fuck up, okay?' in code at the beginning of it.

Hypocrite.

Hey - we finally agree on something!

I would steer clear of the centrino chipset. If you are looking for raw power, don't think your going to find it with a light, high battery life centrino. They are designed to be low power devices so its not goig to jive with audio production to well. Look at AMD mobile chips or Pentium 4 based laptops. You are probably not going to be able to run on batteries since your audio card (what ever you buy) will draw some juice

Yeah I am hypocrite in the event i posess beliefs and opinions I do not hold. I believe I should be kind, compassionate, loving, all that good stuff. But i'm not!

For what it's worth, in all honesty i dont swear. I say STFU. IRL, i say "Shut the F up" I dont actually say "f.ck" I guess you can say it's just as bad.

But, the Bible is perfectly clear that men use language they shouldnt. and that "jesus followers" use language and engage in acts they shouldnt. so if youre going to label me as anything label me it by the bibles standars. not things you have heard preached out of the mouths of mere men. The whole point of christianity is to get better.

I never came here and preached at anyone, nore have I came here and claimed to be perfect. I am a normal mortal with MANY MANY flaws. i am sick, i am twisted..and i probably need help. that's why I came to jesus- to get help. im far from being a person to tell others what to do and what to not do, i have too many flaws of my own.

I didnt mention i was into the christian music scene as an invite for me to be a "good example" because human "Christians" being a "Good example" to other humans 97% of the time will NOT work out. christians arent anything special they just made a good decision IMO. after making the decision to choose christ, the only thing left is the decision for one to change to be more like Him. and quite frankly my language is horrendous.

Thanks for coming out though. <3

right @ not running on mere battery.

i thought the centrino only clocked down when running on mere battery to save battery life..

In general they are low power low speed devices. The fastest pentium M is only 2.26 ghz, whereas you can get a 3.8 Ghz laptop with the fast FSB, ddr2 etc or go real big and get an AMD64 based one

i dont know much about amd...infact nothing at all admittedly.

but if you have a pentium m of 2.26 that is equivilent to a pentium 4 of like.. i dont know.. late 3's. which is pretty fast.

I think i decided on a notebook though. asus w3. it has centrino i think i should stick with that...for now ;D

Everyone says "Mix on the plane."

You don't MIX on a plane. You EDIT on a plane. Completely different!

;)

Done that. You can also work on arangements while travelling, or compose stuff with a keyboard program (turns your keys into...well, keys) and softsynths.

The -C

sorry to hijack, but i have just been wondering about just such a "keyboard program", or if one even exists. can you give a link for one?

many thanks

peace

If by some remote chance you use GarageBand, it's built in. Simply select Window>Musical Typing. A window pops open and, viola, your computer keyboard functions as a controller. One day they will eliminate pianos and students all over the world will play chopsticks starting from the home row position!

Check out the emachines m6805, m6810, m6811 these have AMD 64 processors though. These machines have been running circles around the powerbooks over at the digidesign user conference. the emachines have been able to max out pro-tools le audio and auxilary track counts with i think 5 plug ins on each track. (daveC test).
