Which mixer?

I'm putting together a digital recording studio based on my computer with Cakewalk 9.0 and I'm looking for a mixer. I hear the Mackies come highly regarded, and my question is, which of the Mackie series, VLZ or CFX, are better for recording? If anyone has any other suggestions for a mixer, I'd be happy to know. Thanx

Depending on how many inputs you need at one time and if you will be mixing on your computer, I would suggest getting a good quality preamp instead of a mixer. Just my opinion though.
