which mixer?

hi folks,
i've recently acquired some mic's i'm happy with, i'm using an ibook with the digidesign mbox set up, but have been borrowing a dj friends mixer, and now it's time to get one of my own. can anyone recommend a good mixing desk? the number of channels isn't really important to me right now, 2,4,8, and i'm sorry if this all sounds very vague...
 
Try one of the big online catalogs or your local music store and look for a Yamaha MG series mixer. Nice package.
 
Behringer makes a good product, Yamaha is kid tested and yo mama approved!
 
Less noise, more durable, better pres, etc. Sometimes the Behringers have more "features", but the Yamahas are good solid boards with stuff you will actually use. Some people have had good luck with the Behringer boards (most seem to not like them), but I haven't read a bad review yet about the Yamaha MG series.
