I want pretty good results, but don't want to invest a whole lot in a condesnser mic since my budget is very limiting, I have these two mics in mind

1. Nady SCM 900
2. Octavia MK219

These both sell for $79.99, which one should i get?

I'm partial to the Octavas. I just like darker sounding mics on vocals. I haven't used the Nady but if it's like the rest of the budget large diaphrame condensers (and I suspect it is) I'd imagine that it has more of a hyped high end. In all fairness, if I were going to be recording acoustic instruments as well as voice and could only have one mic, it probably wouldn't be a 219.

I have the sc900.....the high end is soooooo SHRILLLLY on vocals. It gets the job done on acoustic guitar though. Remember, if you want professional result, you need professional equipment. An $80.00 mic is not going sound like a U87 mic, regardless of the pre.

im not familiar with either of those mics, i'd recommend getting a dynamic mic for that price... the sm57 above all others.

How about a Marshall MXL 603s. It will sound good on acoustic guitar, too.
