I've been considering purchasing an MXL V67G as my vocal mic, but just to be sure it'll suit me, I've been told that I have a "Tom Waits" sorta voice. Will I get best results from the V67G? If not, what will work best in that price range? Thanks.

You should really try to audition all the mics you're considering as your main vocal mic for yourself before purchasing. With that said... IMO, the Marshall V67 is one of the best budget LDC mics under $100 for vocals on the market that I've tried.
