I can tell you that the KSM32 and the KSM44 are very different mics...the KSM32 is a go to mic for any instrument...the KSM44 is an execellent vocal mic.

I didnt buy the KSM27...but Ive heard those Dixie chicks records...and it is a mic they use often.

You can still buy KSM27's online new for about $290. But they are getting harder to find. They are slowly fading away.

I recently got an SM27 and like it. Next I may try the CAD M179 for comparison. I am looking for sweet, smooth, and rich tom mics. But I can only afford a new mic every once in a while.

Id go ahead an buy a used KSM27 off ebay from a dealer with high feedback ratings...you should be able to score them cheaper.
