Which instrument is too loud?

Try sliding the gain control to +7.7 on the high shelf and then +4.8 on the low shelf.
You might have to go a little higher to get the same effect. When I A/B'd the SSL with the Nuendo EQ, it didn't sound the same, even with the same settings. The SSL was brighter and tighter than the stock EQ. YMMV

Still I'm wondering where the reverb went? his reverb splashes so much better. hahah. I m cutting it all off after 8k with the HPF.

I am boosting everything above 8k, not cutting it. Also, i have a limiter on the master bus, which may have something to do with the reverb tails. I'll have to look to see how much reduction I have going.

Edit: I just looked and I have about 4.5db of reduction coming from a brick wall limiter on the master bus. Mostly, it seems to be knocking back the snare drum, which will bring up the reverb.
