The Shubb will last forever. And you DON'T screw them on, the screw is an adjustment. They have a cam action lever to clamp them on. By far the best capo. The only part which can wear out is the rubber sleeve which actually "frets" the strings, and you can buy a new one for $2.
Elastic just sucks, period.
The Kysers and other similar products have springs that wear out, eventually. Plus, they are bigger and more awkward (at least for me) when you are playing. I carry them (just as I carry the elastic ones), but the only one I recommend is the Shubb.
Oh, and even though I sell the Shubb for more than the Kyser, I make a better profit on the Kyser, so my preference for the Shubb is purely a matter of function.
