typically, my material comes from me sitting around at work with a cheapo acoustic in hand or while relaxing at home with my guitar, not usually plugged in or anything.

i come up with cool stuff but i have yet to finish any idea. i also don't write anything or tab anything out, so i forget some of it. i have about 6 ideas in my head right now, an idea meaning a small little riff or something. i really should write stuff down, but i figure that if i forget it, it wasnt good enough anyway.

i can never sit down and say, 'ok im going to write a song'. it just happens to be a chance thing while fooling around.

i will never develop an idea because i dont want to be a musician anymore; ive been playing guitar since i was 6 and drums for 3 years now, and just picked up bass a little, but i have no desire to be a musician. i would rather be an engineer/producer at this point. instead of buying a new guitar, i find myself buying a new computer, new mics and other equiptment.

Hey don't loose that man. your what 16? when I was 16 I was playing the piano fluently & very good too. When you get older, you loose your skills if you don't keep them. I'm becoming a engineer, already a producer, and it's a hard hit if you don't remember, in my case, the key's/notes etc. It takes me sometimes a full day to come up with something great. But anyways, just because you play the guitar, doesn't mean that you'll become a musician when you enter the industry. Real producers know how to play some kind of instrument. Not just hit a lighted drum pad on a mpc.

yeah, im not stopping playing. im a pretty decent player, in all 3 instruments, i mean good enough to fill in the parts for the cheesy bands i record when they screw up like hell and then leave before i get a chance to edit and punch them in and stuff.

im not one for making my own stuff, im content learning everybody elses. of course i love a good jam session once in a while, but thats just good ol fooling around/mess of a song.
