Where can I get Beatles Master tapes 4/8 tracks?

Steve, I wouldn't be real concerned with the power rating on these interfaces. You will be wanting a line level output to accomplish what you want to do. That means you don't have to crank the receiver/amp to get there. Using a minimum setting - enough to give you the proper level after the converter - is all you need which should be well under 10 watts say. Again, hope this helps you out.
 
I have been looking on ebay and I found something. There are some 4-track full dimensional stereo reel to rel tapes. item number 290122558427. There are others but no one explains what these are. Are they mixed to 4 tracks instead of 2? Or are they like an 8-track cartrige? If they are 4 seperate tracks that you can put on a 4 track reel to reel and seperate the tracks this may be something Im interested in...
Does anyone know what these are? Or what you need to play them on?
 
Howz it hangin' McFly? (sorry, couldn't resist) To answer, these are stereo tapes not 4 channel. They are identified as 4 track as there are 2 tracks playable each direction of tape travel. It messes with peoples minds as there is the tendency to think 4 channel when the phrase 4 track is used. I spect it's cause folks like us think of tracks differently than the average person. These would be playable on any standard stereo quarter inch 'quarter track' rtr deck.

Unfortunately you'd just be getting what you already have on cd or lp - the regular 2 channel stereo recording.
 
If you really love the songs, though, 7.5 ips r2r four tracks offer terrific sound. Far better than CDs or even most vinyl, IMO. I use a TEAC 2340 into powered monitors to listen to a slowly growing collection of tapes, and everyone I play this setup for agrees that the quality is fantastic.
 
Yeah, I agree, 7 1/2 ips is an underrated option, sounding very, very good. Heck, even though my recorders can do 15 ips, I tend to record at 7 1/2. :)
