I've been experimenting with different procedures for recording vocals on my VS-880EX.I'm running an Audix CX-101 condenser into an ART Tube PAC thruogh a Roland VM3100Pro then digital out to the 880.The 3100's converters are 24 bit,and the smoothest sound I've gotten so far have been using the Vocal Comp patch in the MTK fx section, using 16 bit dither(it's part of the patch),.However,I realized that when I do my 2 mix onto 2 V-tracks,I can't use reverbs, etc. if I'm using the MTK patches,so I'm now thinking that I should hold off on the MTK patch until I've got the 2 mix,so that I can use Reverb while doing the mixdown to 2 V-tracks.Will I compromise the effectiveness of the dither when applying it to the 2 mix as compared to dithering while recording each track? thanks for your input!
