if you cant wait to get home after work to play your guitar......if you take sick days just to play your guitar all day....... if your neighbors no longer talk to you.......if you keep a guitar at work in the closet so you can play whenever the boss is gone..................all of these things i do

How are amplifiers similar to prostitutes?

Neither has ever been turned down by a guitar player.

When you completely understand and can use modular scales! If you can only play pentatonic 1st position you are a wanker! :D

In all seriousness there is a difference between playing guitar and being a "guitar player"

You're a guitar player until you hear someone esle who is so much better than you that they make you realize what it takes to be a real guitar player.

Then you go home and bust your ass and become a guitar player again.

If more people tell you to "Turn it up," instead of "Turn it down," you might be a guitar player.
Bingo! And if someone who fits that description calls you a guitar player, then you're probably also a guitar player.

When you can still stand up and strum with people dropping dollars in your bucket down on bourbon st., then, you are a guitar player.

When your significant other leaves you because you spend more time playing guitar than you spend with him/her.

When you can figure out the Living After Midnight riff without having to pick up a guitar.

Practically anybody with a guitar can call themselves a guitar player. The question should be, when can one call themselves a good guitar player?

I tend to agree with this. Personally, I call anyone who plays guitar a guitar player. Someone who gets paid to play guitar (gigs, in a band, etc.) is a guitarist.

when you go for a blood test and the nurse sticks your left ring finger tip...and no blood comes out.

You might be a guitar player

when you can truly depend on someone else in the band to buy you food and give you rides to the gig and think its owed to you in someway anyway like "i write the songs"

Well, you might be Kieth Richards anyways.

When you stop trying to learn licks off of records and start trying to make everything you play your own; when you listen (really listen) to the other guys in the band; when you listen to yourself (and I mean really really listen) and realize that it's the quality of the melody that you're playing, not the speed or flash

then . . .

maybe . . .

you might be . . .

on your way.
