What's your favorite preamp?

Simple question: What's your favorite preamp for $150 or less cuz I'm building a cheap studio and have no clue which preamps are nice?
 
The only preamp that's even reasonably nice anywhere near that price range is M-Audio's DMP3.

Peavey PV8. I find the pres to be cleaner than the pres in any of the interfaces I've used, though not by a huge margin over the better ones. That said, the next question is probably more important: What are you using for an interface?

Line6 UX1 is the cheapest preamp/interface...with Abelton Live software I know of at $99...and its better than most under $500
