What's wrong with this mic?

Maybe nothing. It might well be worth the $150 they're asking for it. Other than it's another one of the ubiquitous chinese mics, I don't know anything specific about it.

See what their return policy is. If yuo can send it back in a week after trying it out, you've got very little to lose.

It could explode and kill you. Probably not. But you never know.

That's about as funnny as anything I've read today...I'm still laughing...

That was going to be my point too but in a "you get what you pay for" sort of way.... :)

T

Actually tr, I was trying to make your point in a "you get what you pay for" kind of way without saying "you get what you pay for". ;)

OK, you knuckleheads! Back to your seats!

Look class, I was trying to offer a thought provoking illustration with the thought that you guys might actualy learn something.

Now let's take another stab at this. Subject is a large diaphragm tube mic from a company that uses cheap components, 40 year old parts handlers (mechanical) and bad air filtration system.

Collect your thoughts and re-evaluate the merits of this mic. Work in groups. You might act out scenarios where one of you is a marketer and one a buyer. Or perhaps you might explore a scene in which you're an industry professional using this mic.

Grades will be asessed based on research performed and objectivity. Slackers will be waxing my car after class. Go to work! :D

I would take one of those (If I had $150 sitting around and I already had a good vocal mic), hear how it sounds, swap the tube and try again... maybe after that, I´ll have a keeper... :)

(Raises hand)...I have to go to the bathroom.

Ok, screw it! We're going on a feild trip to examine the sound system at Hooters.

I'm trusting you guys to behave!

Whenever there's a rack near worth my attention, I'm the nicest kid in the room. You can trust me on this one.

It's yet another piece of shit Chinese mic.

WTF do you want for $150 bucks??????? How would you like to be the guy that paid $700 bucks for that six months ago?

I'd throw myself on a sharpened mic stand.

Alright.

Marketer: "Wow. Check this beauty out. It has tubes! T-U-B-E-S. And as we all know, tubes = warm. Look at that baby glow, and imagine how warm your recordings will be when they get tube-charged for only $150."

Okay, so who who wants to play the buyer and respond to my outrageous claims?

Uh, Mr. Grip, sir...

I don't understand why my essay (which my Dad only helped me on a little) got a D- !!!

You know, the one that said, "find a place with a good return policy, try it out for a week, and return it if you don't like it."

Can you please explain why that was the wrong answer? I could'a sworn I heard someone on Sesame Street (or was it Spongebob Squarepants?) say the same thing!
