Just lurking around, and thought I set you all in on a "Best kept secret" guitar.........

I was very, very sceptical so I did all the research that I possibly could....then I took a chance..........

Agile Prestige AL 3000 (I've got the HSB version, and it's truly unbelievable!!)

Just to clarify : I also own a 64' Gibson SG standard, fender strat, Jackson solist (Custom Shop), and a Kramer Striker 300 ST.........So I'm used to the "Good stuff" :)

.

i just sold my 79 Artist as i didnt like the Pups, especially the one in the bridge (shrill, harsh, glassy). - and I didnt feel like swapping PuPs out... (i have too many guitars to boot with :-)

overall a really good guitar - nicely made - good potential - but then again I found that if i really wanted to go to town, I always ended up w/ my 95 LP-studio and went the whole 9 yrs.

I did like the bridge pup, tho ... it is a little on the muddy side, but very dark in texture ...

How come no one mentioned G&L?

Because everyone knows they are great guitars.

1. Hamer, the middle line, not the USA and not the Slammers, but just the Hamer brand are great guitars for the $.
2. DeArmond, the ones with a set neck..they made them a few years ago, awesome guitar for the money and you can still get them on ebay.
3. New line of Ibanez's, most all of them are great for the money.

At least the "vintage" models. They started making reissues a few years ago and I haven't really got to compare the sound of the reissues to the originals. I know the reissues weigh much less than my "vintage" models.

I've got two of these puppies (both from the early 80s) and I cannot be happier-- and I didn't pay more than $400 for either of them. I don't even want a Les Paul since I got these guitars. Plus, I think the double cutaway looks cooler than the LP.

Solid mohagany body and very high build quality-- the factory shielding alone speaks to the quality (the internals are shielded VERY well). I'm not so sure I like the stock pickups, but I have replaced the pickups in every guitar I've owned so I guess I'm biased in that regard.

If you love the Les Paul tone and feel, you have to check out these guitars. There's about 15 of them on Ebay right now for less than $500.

Ditto on those they are VERY good! Also Yamaha made the SG2000[ I belive] they were similar and it was good also.. :)
