Whats the correct order to power up different studio components?

Should the moniters be turned on last?

I have self powered moniters with individual volume knobs on each one.

I always turn these on last and then turn up the volume on them.

Is this correct?

Your monitors should be the last piece of equipment turned on and the first to be turned off to protect the speakers.

If you have all your other gain/volume knobs down when you turn off the monitors, you shouldn't necessarily need to turn down the volume on the monitors themselves all the time. But Morningstar is right on the order of things, that should keep your speakers from popping.
