Recovering PA Gear

Best option I have found and Ive researched and tested just about everything. Truck bed liner is less than ideal in terms of cost to performance ratio. Cheapest longest lasting option. Use a 1 part epoxy acrylic paint Home Depot sells Behr brand about $29 dollars a gallon. get the deep base and Have it tinted black. Then go to the masonry isle and pick up some extra fine silica sand. A 50 pound bag is like $5. If they don't have it play sand works also but needs to be a powder consistency. Worst case secnerio homax sells a roll on sand additive (Home Depot caries that to) but they charge $5 for two cups of it its the exact same stuff as extra fine silica so 2 cups or 50 lb bag both for $5 knowledge is power.Go Home and get a big bucket dump in the gallon of paint. then add 2 cups of sand and mix really good. It is now textured and can be rolled on. Use a foam low mat roller. first use a foam brush to do all the corners inside and tough to reach spots. cover with two coats then roll the rest. Do one coat then let sit for an hour. cover a second coat. let sit again. then a third coat. should be good comparable to the JBL Coating in terms of coarseness but again if you want add another coat if you want. Always remember you can play around as well get some spare wood and try some out until you get the look you want. Good part is if you mess up just sand it off and start over. When finished it is really durable hit it with a hammer and it wont even chip. Wait till it cures though takes about 24 to 48 hours depending on humidity.
