I bought several pieces of Behringer gear recently. A Eurorack MX2004A Mixer, A 3 Pac of
Ultravoice XM8500 Mics, and 2ea.
Behringer V-Amp 2 Guitar Preamps. I'm very pleased with all of these items.
I compared several Behringer Mixers against the closest Mackie models. All these went into
Mackie SRM450 Active Monitors and
SRS1500 Active Subs. There wasn't enough difference in any of the Mackie VLZ Pro models to justify the 2 1/2 to 3 times the price over the Behringers, IMHO anyway.
My MX2004A displays none of the harshness, noise, crosstalk probs, or uneven volume between channels that Berries are supposed to be infamous for. For the bux, it's definately a solid performer. I love it.
The XM8500 Mics sound absolutely amazing for 20 bux apiece. We also have a
Shure SM58 and Beta57 at our disposal but our lead singer prefers an XM8500. How bout that?
The V-Amp 2's are becoming a great tool for us. Not only for recording and home practice but it's opening the possibilities of using them live for small venues. (Our drummer also just bought a set of Yamaha DTXpress Electric Drums)
Maybe Behringer is getting the QC issues solved. No manufacturer can continue to make junk and stay in business.
When all is said and done, I believe that Behringer is great bang for the buck. But then, maybe our entire band ought to get our ears checked.
