What's in your live guitar rig rack?

Interesting. Not much for rack gear, eh? (most of you, anyway) I would've figured on seeing more Hushes, compressors, etc. (Been eyeing that Pro Gap, cyanjaguar...you like it?)

For the majority, do you figure the "keep it simple and less shit will go wrong" approach is the reasoning, or is it a matter of $$$?

I guess some of the astoundingly cool "everything-in-one" floorboards they've got nowadays seem to curtail the rack a bit as well...

I used to use a bunch of effects.
I've since developed as a guitarist and now maintain that "it's all in the fingers" ;)

If you have a good responsive amp you can get so much feeling just with a clean tone and some imagination.

There's a place for bazillions of effects, just not in the sort of music I play generally.

I'm currently borrowing a Roland Space Echo, which is amazing and I'm kind of tempted to take out live, but I know that it would just be too much hassle.

Now if I had a crew of burly roadies, amp and guitar techs who would set-up and look after everything fo me I probably would take out much more stuff; but as it is I feel I can keep things interesting enough by just using the old hands :)

Gretsch 6118/Fender Tele/Ric 330 -> Fender Cyber Deluxe

I have the Cyber Foot Controller, that's it for all my gigging needs.

For really small stages I use a VAmp and send one output to the board and one to a Galaxy Hot-Spot Mini monitor.

custom brian moore c90p > line 6 II > 4x12 w/vintage 30's, bbe sonic maximizer, rack wireless, compresser/limiter/notch filter/15 band eq.

Guitars: Gibson Les Paul faded Double Cut (p-90's) / Ibanez Artcore AM73 / Fender Mex Strat

Vox Tonelab SE OR Maestro Fuzztain + Ross analog flanger (when I feel really retro ;) )

Amps: Vox Pathfinder (15W, SS, small club) / Fender Hot Rod Deluxe (40W tube, just about everywhere else) / Peavey Classic Duel 212 (120W tube, outdoors, tends to shatter plate glass)

Fender Strat>Vox Wah Wah>Ibanez Tube Screamer>Dunlop Arbiter Fuzzface>Univox Uni-Vibe>Fender 65' Super Reverb..... okay so thats what i want .... but all i need is the vox wah, the univibe, and the amp... big deal
:D

Do I like it?

I almost cry everytime I play a palm mute it is so angry. I love that thing, and I have played quite a few preamps

Mexi Tele -> TU-2 Tuner -> Route 66 comp/od -> Morley Wah -> DOD Evelope Filter -> Phase 90 -> Ernie Ball Vol Pedal -> Fender Blues Jr. or.....

Epi Casino -> Fender Cyber Twin.

I do the latter cause it's less shit to forget on my way to the gig.

My fav setup is my Rick 360/6 straight through my Deluxe Reverb RI. It sounds wonderful. Every pedal and/or effect ive ever tried robbed my tone. having sonic maximizers, sustainers..etc turns your sound into serious crap but people will just see the cool flashing lights and think its all good. IMO

whatever makes you happy.

My live setup...

A spare cord, two sets of extra strings, pliers and a wire cutter, a dozen picks and a digital tuner... nothing else... just my Tele/Strat/LP/SG direct into my JCM 900 2500 MKIII half stack. ;)

Carvin DC-135 fitted with a 22 year old DiMarzio Power Plus thru a 23 year old Ibanez Tube Screamer to what ever i can plug it into. Usually my Peavy Renown 400.

Yes...I've had this setup for a very long time. But I have to agree with Codemate. Its all in the fingers. =]

peace

Dearmond Starfire --> Fender PT-100 Tuner --> Dunlop Crybaby ---> MXR Phase 100 ---->*Proco Rat ---->*Danelectro CoolCat (probably going to pull this one) ---->*Ibanez DE7 delay -----> Fender HR Deluxe.

I just prefer pedals to rack stuff --- easier to set up, less to lug (just the pedal board), and the tone sounds better.

Jackson USA SL2H Soloist > Morley Tripler >

1. > Crybaby Wah > MXR Wylde Overdrive > MXR Phase 90 > Marshall JCM900 50 watt with JJ EL34 tubes (FX loop = Boss Digital Delay > Boss EQ > Boss Super Shifter) > Marshall 1960A Cab

2. > Boss Chorus Ensemble > Marshall VS100 100 watt > Marshall 1958 2x12 Lead cabinet.

I use both amps for heavy rhythm stuff, just the VS100 for clean stuff. The Boss EQ pedal is just for lead boost.
