What's in a name?

Years ago there was a guy who, as the word had it, could get you whatever gear you wanted, particularly synths, for a good price. He was some sort of independant hear seller. Anyway, I recall a conversation with him where he told me he had changed his last name because it was too jewish sounding and nobody would hire him becuase of that.

Yesterday, I was looking on the EMU site at some of the available sample ROMs and there were various CDs of sounds by various sound developers and lo and behold, there he was.

I guess he was right...or was he? After all, what's in a name?
 
alot.. if you can't pronounce it or it sounds stupid, it probably sucks... cool guys would know what a cool name is like, right?? ... actually don't know if i'm serious or not...
 
Surely nobody is surprised that discrimination exists at all levels in every arena... Changing skin color isn't quite so easy (or desirable in my case)...
