You sure you wanna put the 414 in the "small diaphragm" column?

Of course not! Um... The AKG C 414 B-ULS belongs in the large diaphram condenser area; then again, since it's without a capsule... Diaphrams don't get any smaller than that! Hehe!

C'mon, you know everything vintage is better. Vintage cars with their crazy dirty exhausts and horrible handling, vintage drums with their uneven bearing edge and warped shape, vintage computers... your DAW is anything over a 286 you are probably using some sort of GUI, that’s just so not vintage, you wont get the warmth of the old recordings without a 286, 512K ram 10Mb hard disk and oh, don’t forget those classy dot matrix printers for the cover!

surgeon general recommends a grain of NaCl.

I noticed You had a nady in that list. Do you like them I have 1 as well and was thinking of getting another to use as overheads.

I also noticed no c-1 But I know you have one or else you woulnt have had one to disect for the comparison thread you posted.;)

Audio Technica ST 90 (The mic came free with the stand...or was it the stand that came free with the mic... doesn't matter, they're both worth about the same.

Use the AT 4047 almost exclusively for vocals

Like to use the C400S for the far mic doubling on acoustic instruments (bridge on guitar)

MC-012 for friggin' everything!! (especially close miking in an unmatched pair)

The problem I have with the Nady is QC and consistancy from unit to unit.

I don't own them; they're on loan from Alan Hyatt. I will probably end up buying them if they test out well.
