What's a FireWire Port?

I was reading a review of an 8-channel mic preamp, and it created a few questions. I'm still learning a lot about recording.

What is a FireWire port on a computer?

Do all computers have one?

What exactly does "tracking" mean?

OK, I've seen one of those inputs on several of my grandad's computers. I'm not sure that mine has one though. I'm going to check it out...
