I use Elixir Nanoweb Custom mix sets, with 9's up to 46's. If you like your strings to last, try em. I can bend my 1st string all the way to heck, and I get good chunk on my first three strings.

Oh - almost forgot - Fret Ease spray, before and after playing, keeps em sweet. Plus, if you huff it, it will give you a buzz for hours.

I like the Elixer Nano's on my Martin. Very shimmery sound to them. EB Super Slinks on the E-geets for me thanks.

D'addarios, wound G on the Gibson, regular 10s on the So-Cal. I forget exactly what I use on my acoustic  it's probably time to change strings :o

Elixir Nanoweb 10's or D'Addario 10's on the electrics. EXP's (mediums on one, custom lights on the other) on the acoustics. Fender flatwounds on the bass at present.

I always stuck with Boomers. I play 10's but in the old days it was always 9's. I may have even given 8's a shot.

Yeah I used 8s back in the '80s. I guess I liked breaking strings once or twice a week, and sounding like crap generally :o

ernie ball super slinky's

i even tune down to C# with them occasionally, and they still manage to sound good...i play mostly metal and other high-distortion stuff, and love the clarity that their bright-ish strings gives me

Until recently I was using Martin .012s on my acoustic and EB Regulars on my two electrics. Recently, however, I've put a set of Newtone Master Class gauge 011s (I fancied a change) on my acoustic and a set of Rotosound Roto Yellows (010s) on one of my electrics. The Newtones are excellent and the Rotos are sounding a lot better than I remembered from the last time I used them.

Both brands are made here in the UK :)

D'Addario's 9-42's on my Stratocaster and the Ibanez Roadsters and 10's on my Les Pauls.
For my Fender acoustic I use Dean Markley's 12-54's, Formula 82/R Wound on a round core.

Ernie Ball Hybrid Slinky for Fender scale electrics (9-46)

Ernie Ball Skinny Top Heavy Bottom for Gibson scale electrics (10-52)

Elixir Nanoweb Lights for acoustics (12-53)

D'Addario XL ProSteels on my basses (45-105)

10-52's on a fender strat or tele.

9-42's on a floyd equipped guitar.

Ernie Ball.

I just put my first set of D'Addario ProSteels on my bass...So far so good...I've always used RotoSound (Swing) and Boomers, so this will be a change...

D'Addario Phosphor Bronze and EXPs (12s) on the Seagull acoustic, lots of different brands on the electric (I keep having them given to me  )...I'm liking the lighter guages less and less though.

Eric

I dig the ProSteels because they're bright as a mutha, which helps to cut through the mix in recordings. Definetly some rock n roll strings.

If we're talking gauges then:

On the acoustic: 11, 15, 22, 30, 40 and 50

On the LP copy: 10, 13, 17, 26, 36 and 46

And on the Strat copy: Ditto, except they're still Ernie's Regulars.

Ive heard about a lot of people using giant thick strings for tone ( Zakk W, Stevie Ray, etc) and I cannot figure out why. They are so damned uncomfortable to play on! I go as light as I can and I have been very happy with my tones...I guess there really is an ass for every seat, huh?

Heavier strings are easier to control.
