What type of resistor is needed........

If I want to connect just a Humbucker to a volume pot? Also what rating of pot makes the best volume pot?

The active EMG's that are in there now are o.k., There is a push-pull which gives you cleaner sounds when the vol. is pulled, but the One of the positions is way to muddy-over the top for my taste.

There is no resistor needed, except of course the variable one (the pot).


On Humbucker, one volume.


It is traditional to use a 500k audio taper pot for humbuckers, and a 250k audio taper for single coils.

Cool. I thought so, but I googled several times and a couple places mentioned 7.4k ohm resistors. Without a resistor, the humbucker will get more range no?

I'm all mixed up, It was a Van Halen replica site. they said that the humbucker measured 7.4k on the VOM. Duh.
