What software can record 4 independent channels internally from 4 channel live source
I have some software that outputs 4 stereo audio signals to 4 different USB sound cards that I plug in. I assign each channel to each sound card. So that is 8 separate unique mono channels.
I want to move to a single USB sound card that can output 8 channels, like so:

Front L/R, Side L/R, Rear L/R, Rear, L/R. (8 Mono Channels)
Just to make things easier.
I can record 1 stereo signal at a time, and then put them all together easily enough, but I have so many to do, I’d rather find a better software solution. So I need to record the 8 channels of audio that the software is outputting into 1 multi channel file.
It MUST be internal, no male to male 1/8" mini stereo cables output to mic/line in. Fidelity and timing is paramount importance.
I was a computer tech, so I’m not afraid of computers, and I’ve worked with Audition for hundred of hours, know Audacity, etc. but that’s it. Anyone have any ideas on what software I could use?
I’m running Window 7 x64.
- This if for a scientific instrument. Hard to explain.
- No I can’t just get the sound files out of the software, the software is generating certain frequencies mathematically, it’s not playing a recording.
