Yo Salvatore the man of weights:

You need to get a couple of periods in the right places and some capital letters; your message is kind of blurred as written.

 I notice that style of "writing" occurs quite often in web-based dialog form teenagers. Is it a teen fad/phase of some sort? Is there a student revolt against punctuation and grammar??

He's just showing us his faulkner influence;)

Perhaps the most extreme cases of mispunctuation and ill advised semantics are misguided admirers of e.e. cummings.................

But, i dont think thats the case.

I hate to break it to you spelling and punctuation nazis but...
It seems the prevelent online ettiquette has emerged that those who are in err are not people who gaff a sentence or mangle a parigraph but the prissy tisses that then try to correct them. This is just the way it is.

Since everyone is taking theyre shots ill add a few points. If your going to write a long rant BREAK IT INTO FRIGGING PARAGRAPHS.Its just a pain in the rear to read some guys meandering pseudo realisations when its just one block off un enticing words.

Either be intelligent, insightful, entetaining, or brief. If you must be long winded use paragraphs.

You misspelled paragraph, entertaining, and used the wrong form of their!

Okay Salvatore I'll be a sport here.

The ADAT studio pack is a good start. It is a pretty good foundation to begin building upon, as ADAT has been a standard medium in pro studios for quite some time. However, the effects processors that come with it are not held in very high regard around here. That said, they're probably about as good as the ones in the fostex. The only other comparative drawback to the ADAT is that it's only 8 tracks.

The Fostex, i believe, will record 8 tracks at once through any of its 8 mic/line inputs. It records at 16 bit whereas the ADAT is 20 bit. The major drawback of the fostex is that, to a degree, you're stuck with what you get. And most operations appear to be menu-based which tend to be less intuitive and, some say, interfere with the creative processes. But it's several hundred dollars cheaper...

In either case, you'll be making a great leap in quality from the 4-track cassette. Think about your budget and your expectations and you'll arrive at some kind of decision. A lot of guys on here will tell you to look into recording on your computer (the computer recording and soundcard forum has tons of info on this). You may consider this an option in the same price range.

Sorry we ruined your thread. Good luck!
