What mixer should I use?!

Hey all,

I'm new to this site but am really diggin it! I'm trying to figure out what mixer I should use for my Tascam TRS-8...

I have an option of getting a Tascam M 320B for like $300.. channels 17-20 aren't detecting the mic signal, but for the 8 track TRS 8 that should be OK...

Someone also has a Ramsa WR8112 they'd trade for one of my guitars.. Not really sure that's worth it though.. I can't seem to find much on that board...

Lastly i'm debating a Soundcraft FX16II board.. Although it's a bit pricey.. It might be worth it... I've heard pretty good things about it and heard the Pre's are pretty tasty to the ear...

I'm currently using a Digi003 board into my computer and would also like to sync up my TRS8 with that and whichever mixer i decide to go with... That way I can bounce tracks into Pro Tools for some final mixing or additional tracking..

If anyone has any input it would be greatly appreciated, or even if someone recommends another mixer i'm all ears, or eyes or whatever....

if anybody has any recommendations on a nice board to use with the Tascam TRS8 it'd be greatly appreciated!!! I know some of you out there must have some great suggestions... I'm using it a lot for acoustic guitar singer songwriter type stuff, but also to track drums for a semi rock n roll type thing..

Hi, if you're going to be using the board to do tracking, not for just like live practices or something, get the one with the best preamps. Right off the bat, I'd lean toward the Soundcraft, but who knows, maybe one of the veterans can tell you if the Tascam board has some good pres too. I wouldn't know. If you're tracking, especially stuff like acoustic guitar and vocals, the quieter more pristine sounding preamps will help you end up with the nicest results. Forget the Ramsa most likely. You could also check out like a Mackie 1202-VLZ Pro for pretty cheap and use it just for the preamps, though some people might tell you they suck, it might be decent bang for the buck. I'm selling one on eBay right now for like $185 (shameless plug).

you will be hard pressed to find anything better than SoundCraft, Allen and Heath or Mackie.
just kind of depends on how many channels you need and how much you can put down on a console.
