I don't wanna sound like an old man or nothin' (hell, I'm only 21), but dude, you have some talent and importantly, you have a head start on the competition. I didn't even start playing guitar 'til I was 16 . . .

my advice to you is to SLOW DOWN. You seem to come in to the forum, quickly read all the coments and then run off a hastily typed, hard to read response. I know you're excited and stuff and you wanna deliver your message to the world RIGHT NOW, and we're all like that when we get started, but from what I've heard you're not quite ready yet. It's hard to do, and I know I sound like a bit of a Nana, but like others have said, get some singing coaching, keep writing, and practice practice practice until you feel more confident as a musician, songwriter and performer - you've got a long way to go but plenty of time to do it. You gotta make sure you're ready, cos there's nothing worse than stepping out on stage in front of coupla hundred people and finding out right then that you're not.

by all means keep posting songs here - that's what this board is for - to help each other grow, but try slowing down and re-writing your next song a coulpe of times before you post it for the world. the talent is there man, just give it a bit o' love

that was some great advice nick thanks. im not going to focus more on the recording now because i really have no equipment to use so if i try to record something it will sound horrible and i still gotta learn how to sing and play the guitar better thanks guys

I know Im a bit slow here but Hey Dude, Like I said before, Your 14, just keep trying. But it was a great point that you have to give some to get some. I forget that around here every now and then. Hey I can only imagine where I would be if I started at 14 let alone getting advice from professionals like you are on this forum. keep at it. It will come. Like B.Sabbath said (in other words) do your thing. Just dont tell your mom F-EM. That will pretty much ruin your whole music career right there.

Have you ever listened to Kind of Like Spitting? One of my fav's. Check out "All Else Failed" or their covers of "Little Time Bomb" or "Valentines Day is Over".

Ben's singing is the greatest crappy singing I have ever heard.
