I facilitate the taking of money from the haves (some of whom are extremely rich) to redistribute it to the have nots (most of whom are extremely poor).

So, what's it like to work for the IRS?

I teach Grade 5. I consider myself lucky to honestly be able to say that I really enjoy my job.

actually, I work for the IRS.

I'm a System Architect (WebSphere, Java J2EE/BEANS, Oracle, XML, C++, Perl) on an IRS contract making their job of taking US citizens' money more efficient.

I'm also a professor of computer science at the local university.

I actually make money on my studio when I want to, but only enough to pay the utilities. To be honest, I could do much better if i went back to selling studio time but I CAN NOT STAND TO HAVE PEOPLE PLAYING THEIR CRAP MUSIC IN MY EQUIPMENT.

Head end and Hub technician/engineer for Time Warner.
Although I try to stay away from it all, hence the name Stealthtech

Managed Care Nurse Reviewer- I'm the guy who decides if The Commonwealth of Massachusetts will pay to fix your sister's buck teeth. I do hope someday to become maximum dictator for life of a small Carribean nation, or maybe quality control officer of The Chicken Ranch. I've run the gamut, though. In the 30 or so years I've been playing folk and soft rock, I've been a state Archeologist, A bodyguard and bouncer, and a Registered Nurse.- Richie

Musician, and I teach private lessons a few days a week....about 30 students. Like the playing more than the teaching though, but it is cool to pass on music to others since it is such a big part of my life, and see how it changes other people's lives.

I am lucky.

It's me dude, Bill Clinton.

No, seriously, I work for a large poultry integrator. I work with the growers of the chickens. I've seen some WILD stuff. Among the worst sites was a whole house of dead chickens- 30,000 birds- died by suffocation/heat in a power loss. No fans, no cooling.

In the mid 80's my partner and I did 2 records for a contemporary Christian label. It was a new label. They were unsuccesful- so were we. I've been raising a family and dabbling in music since leaving the biz. I expect my new studio gear this week, including the ALESIS HD24. The more I learn about recording, the more I realize how much I still don't know. (huh?)

You'll find some of my stuff in the PEACE section of www.danpeek.com

titan,

I sue people for fun and profit...or at least I used to. Now I negotiate good deals for my company and try to keep them from being sued in the process.

Foo and his band of merry men lurk in trees waiting for the gluttons of society to pass by...
then they swoop down as birds of prey brandishing bows and staves....

Often in small pubs and inns one can hear the low murmer of gracious toasts made in his name

Yeah

Student, hopefully will be making music for the rest of my life.

Me too, but I think we all had that same hope.

I've been with the company I'm with for nearly four years. In that time I've been a dispatcher, a branch manager in KCKS, an electronics tech, an IT LAN assistant, assistant to the CEO, and their gun range manager.

Tomorrow I start over at the range again for two months until the business is sold. They think the buyer's financing should be in order by the first of the year. The last manager had the federal paperwork so screwed up it took the CEO and I the past two weeks to straighten it out. The old manager was shit-canned Friday. It'll be nice not to have to wear a tie for awhile.

I like the variety and the more jobs you can do for the company the more you know about how it operates and the more they rely on you. I call it job-security.
