Thanks and an Update.....
Thanks nylander and random....
Dain Brammage is a real person, as are Spam and Velveeta. Dain has been unable to perform for a couple of years now. to make a long story short, Dain was abusing prescription meds and anything else he could get into his system by any method that would do the job. Gigs had slowed down so we were playing anyplace that our manager could con into letting us play. So here we are in Farmer City Illinois, a real town, and cranking out our 3rd set material, you know, great tunes like "Vertical Hair and a Bad Attitude" , " You Sorry Fuck" and other originals. You gotta understand that Dain, by the 3rd set, is so far gone that he is oblivious to anything but his own internal mental processes. He can hear the drums and the lead guitar (me) but thats about it for him. So, like we're ending the set with our REALLYBIGLOUDANDEXCITINGSONG . Dain , with more than his usual abandon, does a swan into the moshpit. He is so toasted that he doesn't know that the bar is basically empty. He hit the floor face first, actually forehead first. The doc's said that he gave himself the medical equivalent of a frontal lobatomy. The wierd thing was that nobody but his closest friends could tell the difference. He has made a slow but steady recovery, and is expected to be able to feed himself , like maybe by 2009. In the winter, I think they said.
The bass players ( we have 2) (don't ask why) wants us to take him out and try a gig to see if he will respond to the sheer volume that we put out. The doc's are against it 'cause it took them a year to get him to stop the head flops. So anyway, the Youthful Offenders is prettymuch outabizness for now, and I am back touring with Spam and Velveeta, a classic blues act who are very dear old friends of mine and have been touring continuously, more or less, since 1954.
