wow

these RNC compressors are extremely popular, must be great. Whats the list price?

Hey i have one question, as i normally do several =). If I recorded while i put an insert effect on on Cubase5, would it record with that effect so that I could take it off and it would stay?

let me nkow when you've listen to the tracks.
Hmmm... yes - you're right, no apparent artifacts, but it's hard to judge the coloration 'cos of the MP3 encoding... I was tempted initially to say - yeah I remember that "tone" that all mixes had if I ran it thru the 3630 when I had one, but there's no way to tell given the MP3.

Almost makes me wish I still had the 3630 so I could post an A/B mix of that unit and the RNC.... almost... !! :D

Nice tunes though Romesh!

Cheers,
Bruce

which one did you listen to bruce?

lol, the only thing that puts me off the RNC is the look. :-)

I listened to all 3.... I just listened again... I find the bass definition is a bit indistinct and murky on all the tunes - that could be the 3630, or possibly just the encoding... there's a mid-range honky flanging thing going on in all 3 tunes which again, would seem to be MP3-encoding at its best again.......

When you have 2 RNCs, you get yourself this cool rack faceplate that the RNCs get mounted in. Check out Mercenary's site - there's pics and descriptions.

Btw, I am not an RNC rep (believe it or not!) - it's just that the RNC is SUCH an unbeleiveable value - I can't imagine anyone choosing a 3630 over it...

:)

Bruce, it must be the encoding because it sounds perfect here. and it was mastered at my studio, not at this "3630" studio!

the flanging is definitley the encoding aswell:-) ill try and make a high quality mp3.

LongWaveStudio, what mics did you use for the guitars? Also what mic preamp, guitar amp did you use?

Did you double the guitar tracks?
